- Incision & fluid collection:
In this, our specialist makes a half inch cut in the skin of the scrotum. The incision helps doctors to locate the epididymis. With the special microscope, they observe the tiny tubules of the epididymis containing sperms. Then the doctor dilates the fluid and collects the fluid to check the presence and quality of sperms.
In the next step, the doctor transfers this fluid to the IVF. The liquid is tested for the presence of sperms. If it does not contain any live sperm, then we take another sample from the different section of the epididymis. If the patient has the low sperm count, then we repeat the fluid collection and testing until we get sufficient sperms for immediate usage and storage.
The patient can recover within 24 hours after performing MESA.
